At Student Connections, we're all about the students. Working alongside schools and other partners, our team is made up of people who are passionate about helping students through every step of their journey.
What I do here: I work with institutions to ensure that all students are being provided an opportunity for financial success by offering services such as default prevention assistance and financial literacy resources to guide them toward completing their program of study.
My experience: I’ve been in the higher education industry for more than 20 years, with a focus on default prevention, training and student success.
I enjoy: Traveling, reading, going to the movies, trying new restaurants and, of course, shopping. My absolute favorite time is spent with my family and friends.
Why I work in higher education: As a college student many years ago, I often struggled with finding the necessary resources to help me navigate through the process of being a successful college graduate. Now, being on the opposite end of the spectrum, I enjoy working with administrators to provide them with the necessary tools and services to help students succeed in pursing their goals and dreams. It is a gratifying experience.

I enjoy: My family and friends — including my dogs and cats. I read a lot, volunteer for animal shelters and love exploring the Sonoran Desert and mountain rages surrounding Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley.
Why I work in Higher Education: Everybody wins when students complete higher education; individuals, their families and communities! That’s wicked important to me.
My Education: B.S. in Public Administration, University of Massachusetts; M.Ed in Higher Education Administration, Boston University

Education: B.S. in Business Management, Letourneau University
What I do here: I work with schools to provide customized solutions for students and families to educate them on the value of life skills, benefits of successful repayment and completion of their degrees.
My experience: For 30 years, I have worked in education finance in numerous sectors including community college, private university, guarantee agency, lender and secondary market/servicer. Prior to that I worked in social services, providing encouragement and support for those facing life challenges.
I enjoy: Seeking new adventures both abroad and in our national parks – hiking, kayaking, biking and learning the history of our great landscapes. I aspire to Marcel Proust’s words of wisdom. “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes”. I also enjoy gardening and learning about solar solutions and sustainable living.
Why I work in higher education: Higher education bridges gaps and opens doors for people of all races, incomes and backgrounds. It levels the playing field and allows those with courage and determination to achieve their dreams regardless of their situation. Being the first in my family to achieve a degree, my mission is to help others navigate their pathway to success.
Education: B.S. in Behavioral Science, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Belton, TX
What I do here: I work with post-secondary institutions to implement student success and default prevention solutions on their campuses.
My experience: I’ve been in the higher education industry for nearly 13 years working with colleges on financial aid, student loan and student success initiatives. I have also put two children through college on my own.

Why I work in higher education: I was in my early twenties working without a completed college degree. I was determined to finish and discovered firsthand the power of higher education and how it can transform and empower a person, both personally and professionally. I want everyone to know that higher education can be affordable, attainable and possible.
Education: B.A. in Banking and Finance, Buena Vista University; MBA, Cardinal Stritch University
What I do here: My title is vice president of sales; what I do here is quite different. It is my belief that every choice and decision I make everyday should lead to the furthering of a culture of support and learning. If we learn something every day, and learn it in the right atmosphere, we will develop relationships and sales that exceed our expectations.
My experience: Before joining the Student Connections team, I was vice president of sales and marketing for a federal loan servicer and default prevention service provider based in Knoxville, TN for 12 years. Prior to that, I managed the sales and marketing teams for the Tennessee Titans Radio Network and served as director of marketing for 17 southeast based radio stations. My first job out of college was with SIMON Property Group, the nation's largest retail developer, where I managed multiple shopping malls and served as the director of grand opening events.
I enjoy: Time with my family, golf, running and traveling. I am happiest when I'm outdoors!
Why I work in higher education: I moved from the NFL to higher education for the opportunity to change lives, individually and generationally. Education can never be taken away, and a degree changes the student's life as well as the lives of family and friends. Helping students be more successful after school is as important as helping them while in school.
